Remix Version
"It's a Heartache" is a country rock song that was first recorded by Juice Newton in 1977, and then by Bonnie Tyler in 1978. It was also recorded by Ronnie Spector of the Ronettes in 1978.
Bonnie Tyler's version of this song which was produced by David Mackay proved to be the biggest hit (see chart positions below), peaking at #3 in the United States and #4 in the U.K.. Tyler's rendition was also a Top Ten American country music hit.
Juice Newton's version was released in 1977 on the foreign versions of her "Come to Me" album. When published as a 45 r.p.m. single, it became a gold record in Mexico. It was also the original charting version of this song in the United States, peaking at #86 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1978. However, Bonnie Tyler's quickly produced cover version of this song eclipsed Newton's single's chart success.
